About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a portfolio of centres across the Gold Coast region. This is a pivotal leadership role suited to a commercially astute, people-centred leader who holds high standards, leads with clarity and care, and builds strong, accountable relationships.

The Operations Manager plays a critical role in translating Harmony’s strategy into high-quality, safe, compliant, and commercially sustainable operations. To succeed in this role, you will bring:

· Extensive experience in the early childhood education and care sector

· Proven multi-site leadership experience in a similar role

· Strong knowledge of ECEC compliance frameworks and mandatory reporting  obligations

· Demonstrated success supporting services through Assessment and Rating

· Experience managing budgets and driving sustainable performance outcomes

· Relevant tertiary qualifications

· Current Working with Children Check / Blue Card

· Valid driver’s licence and capacity to travel across centres

Facilities Manager | Harmony Early Education

South-East QLD & Northern NSW Region – Full Time

Join Harmony Early Education as a hands-on Facilities Manager, overseeing the daily operations of our maintenance team across multiple centres. Your work will directly contribute to safe, beautiful environments where children and teams can thrive.

About The Role

Supporting the Head of Property, this is a hands-on leadership role that blends strategic planning with day‑to‑day operational management, supporting high‑quality learning environments for children, families and educators. This role is primarily based within the Harmony Support Office in Helensvale, with some travel required to centres.

As Facilities Manager, you will lead a qualified and experienced Maintenance team, alongside external contractors, to deliver timely repairs, preventative maintenance, and engaging outdoor play and green spaces.

Working closely with Centre Directors, Operations Management and Support Office, you will prioritise works across multiple centres, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure all facilities meet regulatory, safety and operational standards.

Your work will have a direct impact on children’s learning experiences and the wellbeing of our people every day.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Manage property and facilities projects ensuring delivery on time, within scope and budget.
• Oversee contractor and supplier engagement, issuing clear instructions to ensure quality and safety outcomes.
• Identify and resolve complex property and building issues, delivering practical solutions that improve service delivery, compliance, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with lease obligations, building codes and legislation, proactively addressing risks and compliance notices.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships, working collaboratively with the Maintenance team, Centre Leadership Teams, external contractors and regulatory authorities
• Drive safety, health and wellbeing outcomes, managing incident reporting and contributing to a positive workplace safety culture,
• Monitor and control expenditure, tracking CAPEX, insurance and maintenance costs against budgets, identifying efficiencies, and providing regular reporting to the Head of Property.

About You

You are someone who:

• Holds a Vocational Trade Qualifications or Diploma or bachelor’s in construction management or related field
• Has experience in a multi-site Facilities Management role or similar
• Has experience managing third party facility service providers and in-house operation teams
• Has experience in project management, including managing budgets and schedules simultaneously
• Has a sound understanding of Australian Building standards and Childcare and Safety regulations
• Has a strong understanding of WHS responsibilities including awareness of safety and risk management
• Holds a current Open’s Driver’s License with the ability to travel across multiple Harmony Centre's
• Holds a current Working with Children Check and Paid Blue Card OR is willing to obtain both, prior to commencement.
• Ability to obtain or hold a National Police check

The Role

Harmony is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Officer to join our Facilities and Maintenance team. This role will support multiple Harmony centres across the Brisbane, Greater Brisbane, and Ipswich regions.

The Maintenance Officer is responsible for ensuring our indoor and outdoor environments are safe, functional, and beautifully presented. This includes general maintenance, repairs, patching and painting, sanding and staining, and supporting minor improvement projects across our centres.

The safety of the children in our care is our highest priority. A risk assessment must be completed before undertaking any planned maintenance tasks during centre visits to ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with our policies and procedures.

To be considered for this position you will have:

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in facilities maintenance, property maintenance, or as a handyperson

• The ability to manage multiple tasks independently and prioritise effectively
• A strong commitment to safe work practices and maintaining high standards
• A current National Criminal History Record Check (Police Check)

About the Role

In this role, you will be the welcoming face for children and families, creating meaningful daily interactions that build trust and connection. You will support enrolments, centre tours, and onboarding, ensuring families feel informed, valued, and confident in their decision to join the service.

You will keep systems, documentation, and accounts well organised, while overseeing and streamlining administrative operations to ensure the office runs efficiently and supports the smooth day-to-day functioning of the centre. Working closely with the Centre Director and team, you will be the calm, friendly, and reliable go-to person who helps maintain a positive and organised environment.

A key part of your role will involve maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in the Childcare Subsidy Management Platform, ensuring correct CCS entitlements are applied, and identifying opportunities to support families with additional care options where appropriate. You will also oversee account management and debt recovery processes to maintain financial integrity and support the overall financial health of the service.

In addition, you will conduct centre tours with professionalism and enthusiasm, showcasing Harmony’s philosophy, environment, and key offerings to prospective families. You will also administer the waitlist system, ensuring transparent, fair, and well-organised processes for managing and prioritising prospective enrolments.

About the Roles:

As a Centre Manager, you will inspire, coach, and lead your team to create a high-performing, happy workplace. You will build strong partnerships with families and the local community, while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, including managing rosters, budgets, resources, and compliance. You’ll drive continuous improvement in learning programs and centre culture, working closely with your Leadership Team, comprising the Relationship Manager, Education Leader, Operations Manager, and Quality Manager. With the support of our central Support Office, you will stay focused on what matters most: education, people, and impact.

As a Relationship Manager, you are warm, organised, and thrive on making people feel at home. With experience in early childhood education (preferred), you bring confidence in using administrative systems, with Xplor experience being a bonus. You communicate with ease and empathy, and you value every child as a capable, confident learner.

As an Educational Leader, you will drive powerful learning outcomes for children and families, ensuring their development is guided by approved learning frameworks.  You will champion Harmony's vision, mission, and values, supporting the Nominated Supervisor to deliver a holistic approach that sparks curiosity, creativity and exploration.  With a strong leadership team beside you including a full-time Centre Director focused on performance and a Relationship Manager dedicated to enrolment and family connection, you will be free to lead with impact where it matters most: learning and growth.
