The Role Harmony is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Officer to join our Facilities and Maintenance team. This role will support multiple Harmony centres across the Brisbane, Greater Brisbane, and Ipswich regions. The Maintenance Officer is responsible for ensuring our indoor and outdoor environments are safe, functional, and beautifully presented. This includes general maintenance, repairs, patching and painting, sanding and staining, and supporting minor improvement projects across our centres. The safety of the children in our care is our highest priority. A risk assessment must be completed before undertaking any planned maintenance tasks during centre visits to ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with our policies and procedures. About You: To be considered for this position you will have: - A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in facilities maintenance, property maintenance, or as a handyperson
- The ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including centre teams and leadership
- The ability to manage multiple tasks independently and prioritise effectively
- A strong commitment to safe work practices and maintaining high standards
- A current National Criminal History Record Check (Police Check)
- A current Blue Card
- A current driver’s license and the ability to travel between centres
- A current First Aid Certificate
- A trade background in Carpentry or Cabinet Making will be highly regarded
Summary - Complete planned maintenance, repairs, and facility upkeep as requested by the Facilities Manager
- Maintain high presentation standards across indoor and outdoor environments
- Identify and report maintenance issues and opportunities for improvement
- Work safely and respectfully within active early learning environments
- Build positive relationships with centre teams and key stakeholders
